Problem: The Sky Parlor Salon in Raleigh, NC had a website but it was out of date and not conducive for attracting new clients. The primary goal of the website was to get users to make an appointment and that goal was not being achieved.

Solution: We re-designed and rebranded the website of the Sky Parlor Salon. By designing a “call to action” that holds hierarchy over each page, the user is encouraged to make an appointment. The new brand has a modern and eclectic feel which corresponds with the interior of the salon.

My Role

I came onto this project after the new brand had been established. I collaborated on the design of the Home page with Emily Semba, and then I took over the design and layout of the other six pages.

I added to the brand elements and developed the brand further. This was achieved through details, call outs, and the headers throughout the website.

I laid out the website copy and determined the flow of the website through imagery, patterns, and typography. My goal while designing was for the user to have access to the “Request an Appointment” button at all times. This included making it visible and appear throughout the scroll. The red color of the Call to Action catches the viewer’s eye and pops against the neutral colors and the pastels.
